Route 66 was formed in 2003 by Jim Carriker. The band performs cover music as well as originals for music fans in and around Concord and Charlotte NC.

Each year Route 66 performs at The Georgia Wine Festival at Three Sister's Vineyards near Dahlonega, GA. Members include, Jim Carriker (bass), Shane Atwell aka Jack Daniel (guitar-vocals), Lauren Connell (vocals-percussion), Jet Taylor (drums), Bob Wade (guitar-vocals), Jeff Carroll (vocals-harmonica), Christine Nichols (vocals-guitar) and John Culbreath (fiddle-guitar-banjo-mandolin-vocals).
